Picked up a PS3 for XMAS for the kids also got COD3 and Madden 2007 with it. The kids did mention a game called Gears of War but got the PS3 because i heard that it was a great system. Hooked up the PS3 XMAS morning and all day the Games would freeze or the PS3 would shutdown for no reason. The longest we got to play was 45 min.'s without a problem. Took the PS3 back and picked up the XBOX 360 with GOW, COD3 and Madden 2007 and the kids have been playing non-stop and not one problem also XBL is great. And the look of the games is about the same on the two systems. Are these problems normal for a new generation game system because i am still tempted to buy the PS3 again later on in the year. The clerk at BEST BUY said that they have had about 5 PS3's returned for the same problems.

Yeah? Not a problem with the majority of people of course; if it was a big common problem, then it would be all over the net. Seems to me like sony may have messed up with a few of them or the plane journey carrying the PS3s was a bumpy ride!

Thanks for the reply, thats what i figured there is always a percent of bad units on any game console. I guess i just got a bad one, ill try again next XMAS.
